My name is Wayne Smith I am a personal private chef in Palm Springs. If you want an event that’s filled with culinary delights, sophisticated presentation and that New York touch, then I am your chef! I have more than 30 years’ experience as an Executive Chef, and I now specialize in creating gourmet cuisine as a private chef. Let me be your private chef.
My Background
Born and raised in the Hudson Valley region of New York, I attended the Culinary Institute of America (Hyde Park, NY). I worked in several restaurants, working my way up to head chef for a family-owned Italian restaurant in the Catskills. Eventually, I ran 3 of their restaurants and became a very successful Executive Chef. After many years at these restaurants, I left to open my own place and had a great time as a restauranteur.
About 12 years ago, I moved to California to be with my love and to enjoy the beautiful weather. I’ve been an Executive Chef in this region up until a couple of years ago at the hottest restaurants in the desert.
I am trained in classic Italian cuisine. Thanks to travel and life experience, I know a lot about other foods and love to create fusion dishes. Much of my cooking today incorporates Asian, French, Portuguese, Mexican and other world influences. And let’s not forget good old American comfort food…I love to serve that! I also specialize in nutritional cuisine and sensitive diets. My specialty is also that I can create dishes that are Gluten-Free, Vegetarian, Vegan, Dairy-free, Organic and more.

I have worked as a personal private chef for families, couples and lots of bachelorettes. And I also love to teach in-home cooking classes for people in their own kitchens.
Along with my wife, international master yoga teacher, Jenn Lucene Smith, I host Culinary Retreats on a regular basis. We go to Joshua Tree, Portugal, Morocco and more to come!
